Ruth, whose husband is in a coma, has lost the right to sell the maple syrup to a cartel led by Leonard
Narrative
When Ruth Landry, a maple syrup farmer, finds her livelihood under attack by greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a plan for revenge and to shake up the industry. Loosely based on the theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup from a Quebec warehouse in 2011-2012; five people were sentenced to prison. A collection of oddball characters in dire situations, trying to manage the theft of maple syrup in order to save their financial problems.
He is the sole guard of the entire stock of maple syrup
It seems that her husband owns the rights to the syrup harvest, so she is fined for illegally using his rights. Remy, a bit of a sad character, is a guard at the warehouse where all the syrup is stored and has been smuggling a barrel or two out of the warehouse at night, with a friend who is suddenly killed. With Ruth in financial trouble, the only way out was to steal on a much larger scale, and she and Remy roped Mike into the scheme.
The truth is quite the opposite
Mike is seen as a force to be reckoned with, capable of great things. And with all the personality clashes and missteps, it almost becomes a Keystone cop affair. Every time it seems like they have it under control, trouble happens, and their approach to trying to fix it is a great part of the humor.
And a very interesting cameo appearance
The twist is that it leads into season two, so there are a lot of loose ends. And as is clearly stated, that is not how the theft actually happened. So it is a fun fictional story.
