A remake of Agente Mole (2020)
Charles, a retired man, finds new life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary El Agente Topo.
Before you know it, you’re so invested that you just have to know who it is!
Because we’re being honest, I’ll admit at first glance that I wasn’t sure if this show would even remotely interest me, but somehow it managed to lure me in. All the characters are incredibly easy to love and therefore easy to recognize with someone in your life.
My favorite quote from the show is, «Every wonderful thing in your life, when you look back on it, seems like a miracle to you» Very poetic because it resonates with all of us
It’s also a gentle reminder that we’re all trying to do the same thing here, live and enjoy life, so we might as well make an effort to get along, and especially be nice to each other. I will also admit that it was a little strange to see Ted Danson in this role, especially since we were used to him as the Cheers character «Sam»; but very early on in «Charles» he pulls on your heart strings without leaving any sad reminders of «Sam».
A bittersweet yet tender reminder that Father Time doesn’t play favorites
I hope you watch it and that you recognize & empathize with the everyday challenges that some in our society, in our lives, face. It’s a nice change of pace that doesn’t leave you feeling guilty about enjoying another «crime» show.
